Recording with EasyCap
by Russ on Jul.03, 2010, under EasyCap STK1150
Hey friends…I found a great series on YouTube done by OtakuReborn. He has made 3 recordings to show you how to record with the EasyCap STK 1150/1160. And it is very well done. He even gives a shot of this web site for the driver, for which I say, many thanks. I wanted to place them here to make it a bit easier for you folks to find them. They are well done and worth your time to see…
Here is the YouTube link so you can get his links for the software he references…Recording with EasyCap

Wow Matrix is being duped with a Key-Logger Virus
by Russ on Jun.27, 2010, under General
This time it is just advice…something I found and want to warn you all about. I do not know how many of you Play WOW World of Warcraft, but I still see a need to say something about this.
I have been playing about 4 years now and my add-ons are my crutch. I must keep them up to date. So I use Wow Matrix for that. Have been using it for a couple years I think. The problem is, I was reloading my machine, needed a fresh copy of it. I di what most of us do, I punched it into Google for the web site.
I got my download, and before I could touch it, the MS Security Essentials AV jumps up wanting me to delete the file because it contained a key logger virus. So I let it delete it, and redid the whole thing…same result…
I noticed this time, the URL was wrong. The correct URL for Wow matrix is www.wowmatrix.com . This bogus one with the virus was wa-wowmatrix.com. it is an exact duplicate to the original wow matrix site, with the exception of the bogus file with the virus.
In short…When ever you download this file, OR ANY FILE, make sure you are on the correct web site, with the correct URL. When in doubt, don’t do it!
Play safe my friends…
AGK EasyGrabber Model 10195
by Russ on Jun.08, 2010, under Accessories
One of our visitors found a reliable Win 7 64k driver for the AGK EasyGrabber Model 10195. I figured to make this information available as a Post, so that his entry does not get lost in comments.
As mhjer states: “I found this site:
http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eg/IC_support.htm
And installed WDM_Image_D122209_UAC which worked with my Windows 7 64 bit.”
Thanks for your input mhjer!!
Removing old drivers in Windows 7
by Russ on Mar.18, 2010, under EasyCap STK1150
I have been asked a few time about removing the drivers. So I am making a post just for that
Hit Start/Devices & Printers, double click the icon for the ATK1150. Select the Hardware Tab. You are probably looking at three separate device drivers. I have Syntek 1160, USB Audio Interface, & USB Composite Device.
Now if anyone else is reading this to remove any other driver, there is usually just the one. The Syntek 1150 1160 uses three that have to be removed separately.
Next step, double click the first driver. On the General Tab, there is a button on lower left corner for “Change Settings”. Click that. If you are on Vista or doing a different driver, this button might not be here. if not, just go to next step.
Click the Driver Tab. At the bottom of the row of buttons, select the one ‘Uninstall’ You will get a warning and on it is the option to delete the driver software. Select that option, or it will just use that software to re-install the Syntek when you reboot. We do not want that.
Now go back to the original window that had all three listed. Repeat the process for the other 2 devices. These are system drivers, so it will probably not ask about deleting the driver. Once you have done all three, unplug your Syntek and reboot. Once you are back up, run the driver install program and then replug in your Syntek. Do not plug it in until you have installed the driver.
This should do it for you…Feel free to ask if you have any problems…
